Modular Permaculture Design Course Fall 2010
HANCOCK, NEW YORK: To be held at the Panther Rock Farm with field visits and design exercises at local farms and homesteads. Five weekends over five months. Graduates receive the official permaculture design certificate. Panther Rock farm has chickens, greenhouse, pond, wetlands, solar and well developed gardens and is a developing a permaculture demonstration site.
Permaculture offers a road map to softer energy descent and a more stable future. Applicable on all scales, it is something we share and apply to protect and redesign community. Learn sustainable living skills; obtain energy, food and shelter by following nature’s patterns. Soft energy alternatives, solar, greenhouses, grow food, harvest water, aquaculture, alternative economies, transition towns. Apply permaculture design principles and turn waste into profit. Become part of the worldwide permaculture and Transition Town community. Hancock Permaculture Center is located in the western Catskills on the border of New York and Pennsylvania in the Upper Delaware bioregion, three hours from NYC.

Andrew Leslie Phillips: founder Hancock Permaculture Center, Permaculture Design Solutions.. http://www.permaculturedesignsolutions.com/, journalist, garden designer specializing in natural stone. Studied with Geoff Lawton and Bill Mollison.
Maria Grimaldi: Graduate Hancock Permaculture Center, degree in Environmental Psychology and diversified background teaching gardening, farming, plant science, cooking with New York Botanical Gardens, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Cornell Cooperative Extension, NOFA-NY and Sullivan County Community College.
ASSISTANT INSTRUCTORS:
Kyle T. Murray: Catskill Mountain native brings youthful energy to this group. Studied with Andrew Leslie Phillips, Hancock Permaculture Center, Albert Bates and Christopher Nesbitt, Maya Mountain Research Farm, Belize. Alumni Paul Smiths College of the Adirondacks. Studied Natural Resource Management and Land Surveying. Skills and project experience include Land Surveying and Forestry, Arboriculture, Watershed Management, and Natural Building
Dr Nancy Eos: Family & holistic medical doctor, attorney, Hancock Permaculture Center graduate. Treasurer of an international foundation. Studied with Dave Jacke (i2008). Graduate of first Financial Permaculture course, Hohenwald TN. Active with Transition Towns Sullivan and Transition Towns Delaware - localized credit cards, stock exchanges, time dollar enterprises, business funding, Think Local First campaigns.
Cynthia Robinson: Brings a solutions-based approach to her passion for Permaculture and Urban Farming. Graduate Hancock Permaculture Center, studied Urban Permaculture with Jude Hobbs, Cascadia Permaculture Institute. Currently she splits her time between NYC and Milwaukee, working and studying with Will Allen at Growing Power. A background in Brand Strategy and Design.

COST: $175 per module (includes all meals). Total cost - five units
(72 hours) $875.
