Friends,
Mai Frank and I are co-designing a semester-long Permaculture Fundamentals curriculum for the University of Massachusetts that will run in the fall of 2010. One of our design goals is to feature the work of underrepresented voices in Permaculture design. We are looking to highlight the work of women, people of color, and other oppressed groups.

New Permaculture Center opens at 388 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn
Submitted by lois on Tue, 02/23/2010 - 4:44pm.Friday night, February 19th, about 35 people attended the premier U.S. screening of "Turning Point" at 388 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn. The 40-minute film about Findhorn, the fifty-year old Scottish Ecovillage, was well-received. After the film, Melissa Ennen suggested that we divide ourselves into smaller groups to focus on six of the topics raised in the film -- water, food, energy, transportation, arts and finance. Each group spent 15 minutes discussing existing sustainable NYC projects and additional things we could do locally.

Increasingly, scientists suspect that low-level exposure to pesticides could be contributing to this rash of epidemics.
